Crossing the #.1 Item Off of Our Bucket List: Visit Japan

10 years ago, Japan was just a dream world for us that we know through the inky pages of a magazine and the photos on a blog, or some friends’ posts.

And this year, we got to meet this exquisite country face to face.

We thought we know everything about it by then. We “know” it from those years of guilty pleasure anime marathon nights or the culture blogs, or even that Japantown escapades to “sample” Japan life…but, guys, the real thing sucker punched us in the face, packaged in pink and white blossom flurry.

In a good way.

With not a lot of English words around us in a country full of elegant and non-western cultures and unspoken manners to know, we felt like newborns.

And it’s a good thing, because we see a lot more beauty from what could be a mundane, and our minds get too excited because there are so much to take in. We have never felt so brand new. And now, we go home and do the same in our own neighborhood…”What ‘little’ thing can I celebrate in my hometown today?”

After all, isn’t that what traveling is all about? : )

FUN FACT: The Japan Travel video down below won an award at the Conde Nast CNTraveler Shorties and we also received a cash price of $2,000. How COOL was that?? : )
