Overview:

The Chase Ink Business Cash card is one of my favorite cards because it has a $0 annual fee and it earns 5% cash back on office supplies and select utilities, as well as 2% cash back at restaurants and gas stations!

Note: If you have any of these cards (Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Chase Ink Business Preferred), you can convert the $750 cash bonus into 75,000 points.

Chase Ink Business Cash Card — The Basics

  • The sign-up bonus on the Ink Business Cash is $750 after spending $6,000 in the first three months of opening your account. Like what I mentioned above, if you have any of these cards (Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Chase Ink Business Preferred), you can convert the $750 cash bonus into 75,000 points.

  • No annual fee : )

Note: You need to be under 5/24 with Chase to be eligible for this card. With the Chase 5/24 rule, you generally won’t be approved for Chase cards if you’ve opened five or more new card accounts in the past 24 months so please keep that in mind.

My Favorite Hack About The Chase Ink Business Cash Card - Earn 5x At Office Supply Stores

Let me share one of my favorite strategies and how you'll earn an insane amount of points with the Chase Ink Business Cash. One of the perks of this card is that you'll earn 5% cashback if you use it at office supply stores like Office Max, Office Depot, and Staples.

These office supply stores sell gift cards such as Amazon, Airbnb, Shell, Groupon, Southwest Airlines, etc.

To give you an example, let's say you want to purchase a camera from Amazon worth $7500. If you pay straight using the Chase Ink Business Cash card online, you'll get the 7500 points. Pretty straightforward if you go this route.

But wait… taking an extra step will earn you more points!

If you physically go to one of these office supply stores and use the same Chase Ink Business Cash card to purchase $7,500 worth of Amazon Gift cards, you'll get an additional 37,500 points ($7,500 x 5.) You may sometimes need to go do this a few times because the credit limit of this business card is usually $3,000. After making a purchase of $3000 of Amazon gift cards, you then pay your card in full, wait a few days then use the card again to purchase more gift cards!

By the way, those extra 37,500 points are enough to book one night at a 5-star hotel or maybe more depending on which country! Check this blog on how you can do that!

Another Example On How You Can Meet The $6,000 Spend And Earn 5x At The Same Time By Buying Gift Cards

Lets say you already paid for your bills/expenses and still trying to figure out how you’ll meet the $6,000 to get the bonus for the Chase Ink Business Cash.

One great strategy is to buy Visa and Mastercard gift cards at office supply stores like Staples, Office Depot/Max.

You can purchase a Visa or Mastercard gift card but you'll need to usually pay an activation fee ($6.95 per card). Now, these office supply stores will do a promotion every now and then and they will waive those fees (see the photo of the ad below).

Quick tip: Follow Doctor Of Credit to know if there’s an upcoming promotion for these gift cards:

As you can see from the promotion from Staples above, you can buy $200 Mastercard gift cards (maximum of 8 per day), with the $6.95 activation fee waived.

You can see in the photo below that I purchased 8 gift cards totaling $1600 and not being charged by any activation fees : )

That’s pretty cool that you buy these gift cards but why do it in the first place?

There are 2 main reasons:

1. This will help me meet the $6,000 minimum spend on the card and earn 5x along the way.

2. I can then use these Visa/Mastercard gift cards on almost anywhere in the US (Amazon, Airbnb, Gas Stations, Grocery stores, Phone/Utility bills, Car/Health Insurance, Taxes, etc.).

These gift cards have a long expiration date so I can use them on other things in the future. My main goal is to make sure to meet the $6,000 spend requirement in 3 months and get the card’s sign up bonus!

Here’s a crazy story - I used these gift cards to pay my general contractor to renovate one of our rental properties. Managed to use most of the gift cards and earned a ton of points along the way! #winning

Best Ways To Earn and Redeem Your Chase Points

In order to fully maximize the $750 cash back bonus, you will need a card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points like the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, Chase Sapphire Reserve card , and Chase Ink Business Preferred card, to convert $750 into 75,000 points. Also, once you have any of these 3 cards I mentioned, you will also have the “ability” to transfer points to Chase’s transfer partners. This is key to unlock some amazing value out of your points!

Once you’ve accumulated a stash of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, the redeeming part is where the fun starts! Please keep in mind that the best way to use your points is by using Chase’s transfer partners.

I’ve created a separate blog post on how you can redeem your Chase Ultimate Rewards Points for Maximum Value so please feel free to bookmark this and use it as a guide!
